(1090 The Fan) — Staying true to his statement late last month, local investor Chris Hansen is not giving up his fight to purchase the Sacramento Kings and move them to Seattle.

According to his website sonicsarena.com, Hansen is now offering $625 million for the Kings, a $75 million increase from his previous offer.

The latest move comes after a committee of NBA owners voted unanimously to deny the application of the Sacramento Kings to move to Seattle on April 29.

In a statement on the website, Hansen says “we appreciate that this is a very difficult decision for the league and owners” but he wants do prove he is committed to bringing a team to Seattle. Hansen had said he planned to lobby the NBA Board of Governors, which consists of all 30 owners, despite the previous vote.

Though the board is expected to vote on the issue next week and follow the committee’s recommendation, Hansen’s offer may put NBA Commissioner David Stern in a tight spot.
